There are several pathways to obtain permanent residency in Canada, including the Express Entry system, Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs), family sponsorship, and various other immigration programs. Each pathway has its own eligibility criteria, requirements, and application process.

Canada Express Entry system is a points-based immigration system that selects candidates for permanent residence based on factors such as age, education, work experience, language proficiency, and adaptability. It is one of the most popular pathways for skilled workers to immigrate to Canada. Applicants get access to many opportunities, which includes a high standard of living, excellent education and healthcare systems, multiple career options, social benefits etc. and eventually apply for Canadian citizenship.

In Canada Express Entry system, applicants for the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) are assessed based on various factors. To be eligible for this program, applicants need to score a minimum of 67 points out of 100 points. Below are the six selection factors and the points associated with each:

1. Language Skills (English and/or French): You can earn up to 28 points for their language skills. Points are awarded separately for each language based on your reading, writing, listening, and speaking abilities.

2. Education: You can earn up to 25 points for their level of education. Points are awarded based on your highest level of education, whether it's a diploma, bachelor's degree, master's degree or doctorate.

3. Age: You can earn up to 12 points for their age. The maximum points are awarded to 18 and 35 years old, with 1 point decreasing with each passing year.

4. Work Experience: You can earn up to 15 points for your work experience. Points are awarded based on the number of years of work experience acquired in a skilled occupation.

5. Arranged Employment in Canada: You can earn up to 10 points if you have a valid job offer of arranged employment in Canada. The job offer must be from a Canadian employer and must be supported by a positive Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA).

6. Adaptability: You can earn up to 10 points for adaptability factors such as spouse or common-law partner's language skills, previous study or work in Canada and relatives living in Canada as citizens or permanent residents.

CANADA EXPRESS ENTRY PROCESS

1.Eligibility Criteria: : You must meet the eligibility requirements for the immigration programs and qualify for one of the programs ie; Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) or Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

2.Express Entry Profile: Online Express Entry Profile will be created which includes information like Work Experience, Education Qualification, Language proficiency and other personal information.

3.Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS): CRS score will be generated based upon education, work experience, language proficiency and other parameters. This score determines your ranking in the Express Entry pool.

4. Work Experience: You can earn up to 15 points for your work experience. Points are awarded based on the number of years of work experience acquired in a skilled occupation.

4.Express Entry Draws: Regular draws held from the Express Entry pool and candidates with the highest CRS scores receive Invitation to apply for permanent residence.

5.Invitation to Apply (ITA): Candidates who receive an ITA have to submit complete application for permanent residence including supporting documents within 60 days.

6. Medical and PCC: Candidates must undergo medical examinations and provide police clearance certificates.

7. Permanent Residence Application IRCC makes a final decision after application review. Successful candidates who receive an ITA and submit a complete application are eligible to become permanent residents of Canada.
